CoNiCrAlY removal strips a tough metallic bond coat or overlay from a superalloy part using one of three methods: chemical stripping by acid immersion, micro-abrasive blasting, or laser ablation. The right method protects the underlying substrate from corrosion, warping, and dimensional loss.
